VectoTrail Privacy Policy

Your privacy and the security of your field data are our top priority. This Privacy Policy explains how the VectoTrail application operates regarding your data.

1. "Offline-First" Architecture (Privacy by Design)

VectoTrail is designed to be a local and private work tool. WE DO NOT collect, store, or transmit to our servers:

• Your GPS locations (Tracks or Points).

• Photographs taken by the application.

• Forms, annotations, or calculated measurements.

• Any geographic projects created by you.

All your geographic data is strictly saved on your device's local storage. No geographic or photographic data leaves your device unless you manually export and share them using external tools of your choice.

2. Data We Collect (Only Error and Diagnostic Logs)

To ensure VectoTrail functions perfectly in the field (where crashes can mean lost work time), we use the diagnostic service Firebase Crashlytics (provided by Google LLC).

This service automatically collects anonymous crash reports if the application closes unexpectedly. The only data collected are:

• Crash logs: Lines of application code where the error occurred.

• Device information: Your phone model, Android version, and amount of free memory at the time of the crash.

• Anonymous device identifiers: A randomly generated ID to track if the same error is happening to multiple users.

These reports do not contain your name, your location on the map, your photos, or any field data. They are used exclusively by our development team to find bugs, release fix updates, and improve the tool's stability.

3. Retention and Deletion

Diagnostic logs collected by Firebase Crashlytics are temporarily retained by Google's infrastructure and automatically and permanently deleted after 90 days. Because we do not require account creation or store your personal data, you do not need to request account deletion. To delete all your field data, simply uninstall the application or clear its local storage in your Android system settings.

4. Permissions Requested by the App

VectoTrail requests certain permissions on your device strictly for its operation:

• Location (Background and Foreground): Necessary to record your track on the map and create points even when the phone screen is off. Again, GPS data is processed locally and never sent to the cloud.

• Camera: Necessary to add photos to map forms and annotations.

5. Changes to This Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our tool. We will post the updates on this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
